Research Projects

UARC staff develop grant proposals and collaborate with government agencies and non-profits. Our research is wide-ranging and growing, addressing academic and healthcare use of the mobile Internet; usability of electronic voting systems and ballot designs; social networking and media; the effect of accessibility and usability on health, nutrition, recreation, and politics; and the interaction of usability and aesthetics.

Recent funders include Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (subaward), and U.S. Department of Agriculture. Current research partners at MSU include the College of Arts and Letters, College of Communication Arts and Sciences, College of Human Medicine, College of Social Science, and University Outreach and Engagement. UARC also collaborates with Yale University School of Medicine.
